Editing Accountability – Time Clones Book 2

This week, I have managed the following.
✔ Completed the transfer from Scrivener to Novelist
✔ Completed Edit number 1
✔ Started Edit number 2 and edited 2 chapters. This project is well on track to be released by Summer.

In other news I have:
✔ Recreated the weekly newsletter, and made it better, brighter, and with more info.

Kirstie: What made u want to write?

Brett:
From schooldays, I can always remember being in the school library, taking stacks and stacks of books home with me. Reading my fathers huge collection of red Encyclopedia Britannica books, and Readers Digest.
I’ve always had a talent for spelling, and was very good at making up stories, but never really wrote them down. My father was fantastic at Poetry, and my mother has also written a story about a unicorn, which has never been published. They really inspire me.

After a difficult childhood being constantly bullied at school, I shut down, unable to do any work, and ended up being told by school teachers that I would never be an Author.
The school exam system didn’t help either… originally when it was GCEs, CSEs and O levels (exams at the end of the year), I was able to get great grades without even trying, I would simply soak up the information in class while staring out of the window, then pass the exams. Sadly, the exam system changed, and it was all based on coursework throughout the year, so I left school with really bad grades.

Sadly, my health became bad for several years, and I was unable to work.
Frustrated that I wanted to do something, I set up my own business fixing and building computers, which did quite well, and life was good as a single parent, looking after my children and running the business.
A while later, I got married, and was unable to move my computer business into the new house, so I went to work for my wife for a while. During this time, I noted that the previous occupant of the house we were living in at the time had written some books, and this opened my eyes to revisit a passion I had always thought I could be good at.
Since 2021, I have written a time travel novel (over fifty thousand words), a non-fiction book about the camino pilgrimage and am currently working on book 2 of the time travel trilogy.
I have literally come from someone who was told that they would never be an author, only writing one or two words in a lesson, and staring out of the window, to someone who has now written several books, one of which is now for sale in WHSmith.
