How is my time travel book coming along?
I have put writing on the back burner for the moment, while I crack on with my coursework.
Copywriting and Proofreading course update.
This is coming along well, and I am plodding through. I have just completed the 2nd module, and await my results in two weeks.
In the meanwhile, I will carry on to module 3, and learn more and more about this amazing craft. As you can see by the readability of this post, I’m learning a lot.
Writers Zoom meeting.
For any of you who don’t know, I am a member of an online writing group on Twitter called Writing Squad.
On Friday, some of us had a get-together at 8 pm EST (1 am GMT), and met some of the members. It was a great experience, I made some good friends, we drank beers together, talked about American words and accents, and I stayed up until 4 am (I even wrote a funny poem about the whole experience haha).
Changed my desk.
My writing space had an overhaul today, and I graduated from 66cm / 30 inches of space to 6 feet / 180 cm.
After struggling with space for the last 3 months, and having to deal with a mousemat which needed to be folded over, just to fit on my small bureau flap, I had a lightbulb moment.
I sketched a picture of what I wanted it to look like, and set to, making the arrangements.
After rooting through the shed for some pieces of an old wardrobe, I dusted off a long piece of chipboard with a chamfered front edge and took it inside the house to remove all unnecessary addons like locking bolts, and hinges.
I removed the front flap of the bureau, and simply placed the wardrobe side into the mouth of the bureau, and laid the other end onto a bedside unit.
I now have a bureau to my left, a small side table to my right, and the side of an old wardrobe laid on top of both, turning my 30inch space into a whopping 6 feet space, and now have the space to unfold my mousemat, and move my arms around.
The cardboard sections between my monitor and the blinds are great for attaching important notes and help prevent the sun from affecting my computer. Woohoo
