Announcing a new section “Ask The Author”
This week I am adding a new section to the newsletter, and I am calling it Ask The Author.
If you’ve ever wanted to ask me a question but never had the chance, then this section is for you.
Want to know where I get my ideas from? or how I carve out time through my day for writing, or how I manage to write a book, considering I don’t remember a lot? All these and any other questions about myself, my author experience, and books can be answered by commenting on this post.
Writing Update
I have recently bought a chromebook, as the keyboard on my mac is slowing giving up the ghost. I have found out that Chromebooks are great for online work, but not great at doing offline work, so this causes problems with working on my manuscript.
After a little bit of tweaking, I have now converted Time clones book 2 to my Chromebook, and am carrying on. This conversion process has now meant I went back a little bit, to 68% of editing, but am now well over 75% and happy to carry on working, woohoo.

Reading
I have mentioned I am a slow reader, and I am still reading “They ask, you answer” by Marcus Sheridan. This week I am now at page 41. I am learning so much with this book about marketing, and highly recommend it.
Learning
On Wednesday we had a webinar about creating content with the digital marketing course. The morning was a big learning curve, and a lot of the students were asking questions. The afternoon was full of brand new information, all about different age ranges of people who visit specific social media platforms, but also how to use keywords, and find out what your competitors are doing to sell their products. All in all, a good day, and with this and the Marcus Sheridan books, it’s really helping to broaden my horizons.
Debut Book Signing event update
If you’re not aware yet, I have my debut book signing event on April 6th at WHSmith.
Posters have gone up in the shop, and at friends houses, I have tried out my table setup, with pens, books, table, chair and a cloth and props. It gave me a chance to test out which setup I like, and to get comfortable with the setup process. I dropped off some posters to WHSmith on Friday, and they went up on Saturday.
Literary News
Wide For The Win becomes 5 years old. On Friday, the group Wide For The Win (which helps Authors to sell their books to a wider audience by giving advice on other platforms) has been operating for over 5 years now, so if you’re interested in gaining a wider audience, or just want to with them a happy birthday, why not pop by the group and say hi.
