Hello Time Trekkers, and welcome to this weeks email newsletter, where I share my journey as a Time Travel author. Each week there is a manuscript update, book recommendation, I answer your questions and more. So, lets get started.
This week I have achieved the following:I went to a local charity shop, spoke to the people there, and we had a fantastic conversation about the Camino de Santiago, and Time Travel. They instantly became subscribers to the newsletter, woohoo! And, even better, one of the ladies was so amazed at Our Camino Diary, she ordered a copy there and then. Thankyou for your support ladies, it really means a lot to me as an independent author 🙂 I’ll let you know when your copy has arrived, and drop it off to you as soon as possible, and even autograph it for you 🙂
This week, I even joined in with a 30 day throwdown, a 30 day writing challenge spinoff. It’s less stressful, and is not associated with the no-longer-popular november writing challenge that once had a large following. I love the 30 day Throwdown, it’s just a bunch of Author friends using accountability to achieve their goals without panicking that they have to be better than someone else, instead actually doing something at their own rate, and recording their results.
This month I hope to finish the edits on Time Clones book 2.I have managed to edit 9 more chapters of Time Clones book 2.This week, I created a new method of author accountability. You can see what’s going on in my study by clicking here. The link will go public soon on the website :)I have new glasses, and as promised I enclose a selfie. They are very comfortable to wear, but I wonder if my eyes are getting used to the new prescription yet. Time will tell.I am now over one month without Social Media and have so much free time I am able to do the things I enjoy without being overwhelmed or putting too much pressure on myself. It really is freeing, and I have found myself connecting more with readers, which is such a great feeling.I lost 1 and a half pound this week in Slimming World. I have no idea how, but I hope to lose a bit more next week. Eventually the benefits will start to kick in, and I will notice the difference, but for now, I am sticking to the plan, yay :)All in all, it’s been a really good week, and I am really happy to be trying new things, and making progress.This weeks Book of the Week is A Gift of Time by Jerry MerrittBlurbWhen Micajah Fenton discovers a crater in his front yard with a broken time glider in the bottom and a naked, virtual woman on his lawn, he delays his plans to kill himself. While helping repair the marooned time traveler’s glider, Cager realizes it can return him to his past to correct a mistake that had haunted him his entire life. As payment for his help, the virtual creature living in the circuitry of the marooned glider, sends Cager back in time as his ten-year-old self, knowing everything he’d known at eighty and gives him access to advanced equations of space and time.
But living life over knowing the future isn’t as easy as Cager has anticipated. His every action alters the future he remembers until much of what he remembers never happened at all. And those changes work against him at every turn, preventing him correcting the most serious mistake of his life. Now he must use his advanced mathematical ability to build his own time machine to go back and try again. But he needs a fortune even to begin.
Then he receives help from a strange, young woman with no history. While perfecting time travel, Cager and his new partner overcome enormous problems, even being hunted by dinosaurs in the Cretaceous period. I would love to go back in time and prevent the disaster of the R101 Hindenburg.
In the 1920s, a common mode of air flight was airships, majestic lozenge-shaped balloons with a small carriage underneath for passengers. To gain their lift, they were not filled with the safe helium that we use these days (you know, that stuff in floaty balloons that makes you talk high-pitched when you inhale it). Instead they were filled with deadly hydrogen.Sadly, on the 5th October 1930, on its last flight, the unthinkable happened, and the R101 turned into a massive fireball, ending the flight of all Zeppelins.In an online article by nbc, it mentions how scientists are looking to bring them back.
Now I turn this question around to you dear reader.

I love to hear from people, and I can’t wait to feature your questions in the newsletter.The Ethics of Time Travel: Should We Go Back in Time?Time Travel has mystified, provoked lots of discussion, and been the source of many movies and books such at the Terminator, Back to the future, The Time Travellers Wife, Donnie Darko, Bill and Teds Excellent adventure and many more.We live in a world where we like to take the science fiction and turn it into reality. For example, who remembers seeing automated sliding doors in Star Trek, which are now available in every high street store, or mobile communicators, now known as mobile phones?These days pretty much everyone has a mobile phone (Star Trek Communicators), or more than one. How about touch-screen devices? (also Star Trek, think of iPads or tablets?) Automated Cars such as KITT from Knight Rider (Tesla?), or the Johnnycab from Total Recall. 3d holograms are now a thing (Star Wars), and so are bionic limbs (The Six Million Dollar Man). And in the film Blade Runner, digital billboards are everywhere, just like today. Space stations exist, and Artificial Intelligence is now a very big thing in our lives.There are so many inventions that have become reality, which were once just a gem of an idea for a science fiction book or film. One thing yet to become reality though, is Time Travel.While many people are still wondering whether AI is a good thing or a bad thing, and if we will ever see the rise of the machines, I am left wondering one very important question. If we invent Time Travel… would that be a good thing, and more importantly… should we go back in time?In last weeks newsletter I posed the possibility that Time Travel already exists (probably in the future), with photos and video footage that would certainly make you think twice.What would you do if you went back in time? Would you try to prevent a disaster? Would you try to find your younger self and give yourself some advice? Would you try to prevent a loved one dieing?There are so many questions, but the biggest problem might not be what happens if you went back in time, but what would be the consequences to your actions?Consider this. Perhaps you have you already been back in time, and something so catastrophic happened, that the only way to fix it, was for you to have to forget what happened, and that the catastrophe has been covered up, so you can’t warn people.The biggest question is… should we go back in time? What happens if we meet our younger selves? Would we pass on information from the future to help our younger selves? If we do go back in time, and time travel agents from a secret agency are monitoring time streams, what would happen to us? Could you be implemental in preventing someones death? That might sound like a strange question to ask, but what if that someone was an infamous person in history, responsible for so many deaths and tragedy, that you could end up in the history books as someone who helped them carry out their dastardly deeds?What are your thoughts?Join the conversation and find out if you should go back in time?
